Emerging IBM WebSphere Software
The implementation of web servers, inclusive of organization-specific configuration and utilization with an evolving internetworking and mainframe infrastructure continues in the market. IBM's WebSphere web server and development platform has been emerging as the software of choice for Fortune 1000 companies, government municipalities, and healthcare providers. WebSphere leverages IBM's commanding share  enterprise processing of data by its mainframe operating systems, system software and mission critical WebSphere MQ middleware. SYS-ED offers a comprehensive WebSphere curriculum of industry standard content and tailored consultancy derived courses. Our staff of systems consultants have been working with WebSphere since its initial release and have installed and tuned 100's of WebSphere server environments. Equally as important, SYS-ED's training and educational consultancy reflects our 30+ years experience in evolutionary IT: mainframe, client/server, UNIX and MS networks. As part of our WebSphere courses, we provide a prototyping environment which allows clients to assess a comprehensive range of WebSphere server configurations and the trade-offs involved in selecting an implementation which meets specific operational objectives. In addition to IBM's original WASD, our WebSphere Java training also teaches the Eclipse and Rational development environments.

Technology Driven IT Training

SYS-ED Approach to WebSphere Training

SYS-ED's WebSphere training provides hands-on experience.

WAS: WebSphere Application Server courses teach:

  • The steps required for administering and implementing security.
  • A variety of different administrative tasks and scenarios.
  • How to implement recovery, reporting and workload management.
  • How to use tools required for performance design/implementation.
  • Guidelines for the efficient identification and resolution of performance problems.
WASD: WebSphere Application Studio Developer teach:
  • The development environment.
  • Integration and use with all the major databases.
  • J2EE and its components and project management.
  • Performance design.
  • Tips and guidelines not available from public sources.

The courseware used in SYS-ED's WebSphere training extends the IBM documentation and provides insights and guidance into the underlying architecture and protocols, program logic and sample programs which have been validated on consulting projects. And in this day and age with inter mixing and hybrid implementations of open standards and IBM systems software, reference material which “explain and demonstrate” is fundamental to effective knowledge transfer.

After a course is over, students receive ongoing support for the inevitable WebSphere questions which come up back on the job.  Courses can be taken as part of an integrated program or a la carte.  Tailored courses can be conducted on-site at the client location

Evolving IT - Interrelated Technologies

Information technology training for business enterprise is more complex and challenging than ever before. Organization’s have a huge investment in infrastructure and applications specific to their operations. There are new industry standard protocols, web server and web enabled technologies and development platforms which require development from scratch and/or integration with the existing system software and enterprise databases. There will be long term implications regarding the strategic mix of proprietary and open source software which is selected, along with decisions on whether to maintain and upgrade the existing legacy applications, many of which are now thirty or more years of age; while retrofitting and transitioning to the new technologies. SYS-ED trained a significant portion of the first generation of DP personnel. And looks forward to training their IT successors in the 21st century.

WebSphere Training in New York 1

WebSphere Courses
SYS-ED's WebSphere courses are tough, but they're worth it. Our challenging "hands-on" WebSphere training provides a foundation and framework for Fortune 1000 companies, government municipalities, healthcare providers, software houses, and consulting companies to train their own WebSphere staff and acquire specialized interrelated expertise in IT technology. 2

Courseware
SYS-ED's WebSphere courseware is highly acclaimed in the IT field.  We draw upon our extensive library of courseware, sample programs and case studies to explain, demonstrate, and teach industry a combination of industry standard and consultancy derived WebSphere content. Our WebSphere curricula are updated to include the new development environments and expanded featureset. We have the capability to provide design guidelines and programming examples across a comprehensive range of base operating platforms - MS Windows, UNIX variants, and hybrid internetworking implementations.

Teaching is Our Business
Most computer training companies are divisions of large software or consulting companies. Not SYS-ED. Our only goal is to provide top-quality computer training for highly motivated professionals - no more and no less. Because we're independent, we're free to concentrate on teaching - and since 1980 we have been doing it very well.

Our Teachers Know How to Teach
SYS-ED instructors combine teaching skills with broad practical experience as consultants. Our system consultants have been working with WebSphere since its initial release and equally as important average 30 years of experience in enterprise information technology: operating systems, administration, and programming. And they know how to teach it. We teach not only "how to", but "why", building a solid foundation in fundamentals and insights into advanced subject matter. After a course, they're available to answer questions.

Enrollment - SYS-ED WebSphere Courses are NOT for Everyone
No one is allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED WebSphere course, without a consultation with our Director of Education.  We review the operational objectives and project specifications for the organization evaluating whether to send its employee for the training. The employee is ONLY allowed to register if they have the background corresponding to the appropriate learning paths: WebSphere, WebSphere MQ, or Java.

Our Place or Yours?
SYS-ED WebSphere courses are held at our modern, fully equipped training centers in mid town Manhattan and in conjunction with training partners in North America and Europe. If you prefer, we'll arrange tailored WebSphere training on-site at your organization’s facilities inclusive of mobile computer classroom set-up. On-site courses can include the identical workshops, case studies, and hands-on approach as the WebSphere training we offer in New York.

For additional information including outlines, availability of private courses, references, and course customization, contact David Shapiro at our New York office at 212-564-9147, 48, 49 or register online.
