Oracle Web Logic Server Platform Oracle Corporation has two production application servers: WLS: WebLogic Server and Oracle Application Server. WebLogic Server supports Java J2EE and EJB; it is excellent commercial software. Oracle has made WebLogic its preferred application server. Oracle Corporation has been providing maintenance for its current Oracle Application Server 10g and 11g customers during the convergence of functionality with the WebLogic Server. Issues in compatibility and web server migration compatibility are being addressed. As a precursor to the acquisition of WebLogic Server from BEA Systems, Oracle Corporation acquired Tangosol in order to have an infrastructure platform for XTP: Extreme Transaction Processing and real-time analytics. Rebranded as Oracle Coherence, the Tangosol caching software has a comprehensive highly regarded featureset: Java APIs, REST, .NET support, automatic replication of data across multiple cache servers, high availability and failover, monitoring, and reporting capabilities. In order to implement an AIV: Application Infrastructure Virtualization from Oracle and WLS, software from multiple vendors had to be deployed together: VMware ESX Server, MS Windows or Linux operating system, LiquidVM, BEA WLS Virtual Education, and Oracle WebLogic Operations Control. In June 2010, Oracle replaced WebLogic Operations Control with OWLSVO: WebLogic Suite Virtualization Option.ons Control product. OWLSVO is the replacement for BEA WebLogic Virtual Edition; it allows WebLogic Server to run directly on the Oracle VM hypervisor without the need for a guest operating system. The JRockit Virtual Edition is a JVM which works with hypervisor software to provide the base operating system features such as TCP/IP, hardware device interaction, file I/O, and process scheduling.
SYS-ED staff and CETi Technology Partners have been evaluating the component application infrastructure of both Oracle web servers and roadmap integration with Fusion middleware.
Oracle web servers have been well positioned to provide operational management, batch processing, and distributed caching efficiency. |

Training on Oracle WebLogic Software by SYS-ED SYS-ED is a leader in fast-track and client-specific courses which prototype and teach migration and upgrade paths to the Oracle WebLogic Server platform for Fortune 1000 companies, government municipalities, and healthcare providers. We specialize in tailored WebLogic training and educational consultancy:
Why SYS-ED for WebLogic Server Training SYS-ED system consultants have been working with the WebLogic Server platform since its initial release and the four editions of WebLogic Server: Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, Suite, and Application Grid. We also have first generation experience with the longstanding Oracle Corporation software: database, PL/SQL, Forms, and JDeveloper. This multiplatform expertise affords us a privileged perspective from which to explain the nuances and tradeoffs required for implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting WebLogic servers. We identify the BEA and Oracle guidelines that do not work as advertised and offer performance recommendations. 1 SOA: Service Oriented Architecture functions both as a software development environment and a delivery framework. It provides organizational enterprise with the opportunity to leverage the investment in mainframe information technology environment: accessing corporate data, exposing business processes embedded within applications, and modernizing interfaces. SYS-ED staff and CETi Technology Partners are recognized experts with IBM mainframe system software, legacy programming languages, and WebSphere MQ middleware. SYS-ED WebLogic Server courses and Oracle training programs can be extended with course search engine subject matter to teach SOA strategies for: 1- Leveraging existing software assets to create new applications. 2- Enabling business processes to be modified without rewriting code. 3- Providing interoperability with modern web-based systems and extending the practical life of legacy routines and processes. Courseware for Teaching SYS-ED courseware is designed for teaching the Oracle Corporation WebLogic software and development platform in hybrid commercial and open source software information technology. At the client discretion, courseware can be used in conjunction with an industry standard text book, NRV curriculum, and source vendor documentation.
As part of presenting an instructor-led WebLogic course at the client location, courseware is organized for subsequent use in a web-based infrastructure and delivery medium. |

SYS-ED WebLogic courses are not open to the general public. Only employees sponsored by Fortune 1000 corporations, government municipalities, healthcare providers, and consulting companies are allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course. This is essential for ensuring that the individual be placed in the course which corresponds to the employer's version of WebLogic, operating system, and database environment.

The WebLogic curriculum includes
13 course titles, with the TC suffix indicating a course that was developed and taught in conjunction with consulting assignments. Course titles and topics can be reviewed using the
search engine.
SYS-ED has been conducting courses in the public domain since 1980; however, there have been
changes in the laws and regulations governing computer training in the state of New York. The schedule on our websites reflects a projected time frame for licensure with the New York State Department of Education - Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision and submission and approval of curriculum. It will be updated quarterly.
Qualifying an Assignment
SYS-ED will not accept a WebLogic assignment until we confer with the client and review the topics, examples, and exercises to be included in the course. We recognize and differentiate between a course - WebLogic Server Administration versus true educational consulting - WebLogic Server: Performance and Tuning. The agreed upon content will be provided in writing to the client as part of the training contract. At the client's discretion, validation assessment can be provided for measuring mastery of the subject matter.
Private Courses: Client Location
SYS-ED provides private WebLogic courses in North America and Europe. With private training, topics can be mixed and matched from multiple course outlines and the workshops tailored. Case in point; several of our clients have had us conduct accelerated 5-day courses consisting of what is regularly 8 days of subject matter. We also offer integrated Oracle training programs. Private training can be conducted in multiple delivery medium: distance-learning, classroom, or blended web-content.
Enrollment is contingent upon the prospective trainee's having been qualified by our Director of Education to have the appropriate
background for the training and a checklist of items required for transmission of the service to the client location: bandwidth, firewall, base operating system, software requirements, web browser, and set-up of hands-on machine exercises.
Alternative web-based and e-learning training is available: self-paced, presentation through the client's authoring system, or podcast. We invite existing and prospective clients to compare the value of a SYS-ED WebLogic
course in relation to Oracle University and other training alternatives:
courseware, course outlines,
and performance objectives. Few software or consulting companies have been providing professional WebLogic and Oracle training services longer or better than SYS-ED. Since 2001, SYS-ED staff and CET Technology Partners have been evaluating the SPECjAppServer200x and SPECjEnterprise20xx benchmarks for both WebSphere and WebLogic Servers.
