State of the Market Internetworking has become the mission critical infrastructure common to all forms of enterprise. It is as important to a small business as it is to a Fortune 1000 company. And there is a comparable strategic importance for government municipalities and not-for-profit organizations. SYS-ED’s consultancy and teaching experience predates the onset of the microcomputer era. We have been on the ground floor as innovative implementers of each major wave of computer hardware and software technology - mainframe, OSI model (overtaking SNA and SAA), microcomputer - both PC and Macintosh, networking, client/server, Internet, ISO standards, web servers, web programming, and wireless. Since 1980, SYS-ED has been able to assess and successfully implement, migrate and integrate the existing and new technologies. It has always been a challenging task which (we look forward to) inevitably over time smooths out. With each new generation of hardware and software, our collective experience as reflected in our courseware and training aids becomes more refined and valuable to our clients. SYS-ED internetworking courses teach the industry standard subject matter defined by the source software companies and our own consultancy derived content. Networking still is to a significant degree Microsoft centric (it used to be Novell and some of us recall OS/2!). However, the UNIX variants have been making inroads and are becoming mainstream. And it would appear that the market is evolving towards a new competitive equilibrium with web servers and scalable databases serving as the lynchpin. |

SYS-ED offers a complete Microsoft server centric networking curriculum. Our system consultants are experts on Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, derivate server software, Active Directory, and Microsoft clients, with the value added experience of integrating UNIX variant workstation and servers. It is standard policy for our staff to take the time and effort to become familiar with a prospective client’s operating environment and training objectives. We will then prepare a training strategy in writing inclusive of a tailored course outline, performance objectives, and training aids which will address operational design and implementation specifications. And we will continue to turn away assignments, when we are not highly confident that can provide a superior training outcome. Few independent training companies have been doing Microsoft networking training longer or better. |

What Makes SYS-ED’s Microsoft Internetworking Training Effective?

Scripting and Programmatic Implementation There currently is no single standard for the programmatic implementation of web server capabilities. Nor is there a dominant proprietary standard. Both open source and proprietary software are being utilized in different hybrid combinations with one another. Some common scenarios that we have been implementing at client locations include:
In addition to the pure .NET and Java programmatic implementations, proprietary WebSphere, Oracle, and WebLogic development platforms have by design been integrating their development platforms with the open source scripting languages and Java SDK and APIs. SYS-ED’s staff are internationally recognized experts (written critically acclaimed text books) on scalable enterprise databases - SQL Server, DB2 UDB, and DB2 UDB System Performance, and served as project leaders on leading edge consultancy assigments with Oracle and Sybase, and the increasingly popular open source alternatives such as MySQL. Our been there, done that experience started with the initial releases of the databases (and pre release beta versions of the products) and SYS-ED has been providing tailored 3-,4-, and 5-day courses on the implementation, administration, performance design, and programming since the early mid 1980’s. At the client’s discretion, SYS-ED’s database training can be taught as part of an implementation of a web server development platform: IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, Oracle, IIS, Apache. Bottom line, SYS-ED can provide tailored a la carte networking and database courses which serve as the foundation for the automation and scripting of tasks and a programmatic implementation of web server based Internet programming.
No one is allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course, without a consultation with our Director of Education. We review the project specifications and the operational objectives for the organization evaluating whether to send its employee for the training. The employee is only allowed to register if they have the appropriate background corresponding to the correct learning path.

So when it comes to your internetworking training needs, by all means review source software company course outlines, performance objectives and certification standards. And then contact SYS-ED, dshapiro@sysed.com or dsilverberg@sysed.com.
SYS-ED internetworking courses are NOT open to the general public. Only employees sponsored by Fortune 1000 corporations, government municipalities, healthcare providers, consulting companies, and mid-sized businesses are allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course and ONLY after a telephone consultation with our systems consultant/curriculum manager. This is essential for ensuring that the individual be placed in the course which corresponds to the employer’s operational objectives, operating environment, version of software, and development platform.
