SYS-ED’s Training Expertise
SYS-ED is a recognized international leader in Java training and offers comprehensive Java course offerings and tailored Java training programs. Organizations ranging from Fortune 1000 companies to mid-sized businesses are counting on the Java programming language, Java development platform, and third party Java utilities - WebSphere Application Developer, Eclipse, Hibernate, JBoss, Visual Cafe, etc. - to serve as the distributed framework for streamlining their operations and offering new services through the Internet. SYS-ED has a unique resource base and reservoir of technical skills to translate those operational requirements into working Java solutions. SYS-ED is software company independent; our mission is to train our clients to develop the resources for coding, debugging, and maintaining Java required to meet specific operational objectives. No more and no less.

How do we do it? Experience, technical know-how, and superb courseware and training aids. Our collective experience includes the knowledge base acquired from identifying the problems and successfully debugging interactive on-line information processing systems software over 35 years! In the 1970’s our consultants wrote the code and trained DP (It was called DP then) personnel on the first generation of teleprocessing monitors and systems software for mainframe systems. In the 1980’s, we implemented the networks, designed multi-vendor/multi-platform client/server databases and trained the database programmers and administrators on how to create, maintain, and optimize their data. In the 1990’s, we created networked web server environments on the major operating systems - DOS, OS/2, MS Windows, Novell, and UNIX; and we provided the tailored training on how to make these diverse environments interoperate.

In contemporary information technology, SYS-ED is among the leaders in implementing the myriad of Internet scripting languages and development platforms: JavaScript, VBScript, ASP, JSP, CGI, PHP, Beans, ActiveX, XML, Perl, WebSphere Studio Application Developer, VisualAge, JBuilder, Web Gain, and Forte/Sun One, to name a few. Now, we are the technologists helping our clients evaluate, implement, and troubleshoot the next generation of Java.

SYS-ED Approach to Java Training
SYS-ED's Java courses train your IT staff to:

  • Recognize and address the nuances in coding on different web server platforms: IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, Microsoft IIS, and Apache.
  • Migrate your databases for an efficient and safe implementation of JDBC which meets your organization’s most stringent requirements for high volume database transactions and data redundancy.
  • Utilize and leverage the existing investment in z/OS mainframe systems software – TCP/IP, DB2 UDB and XML web enablement, and CICS web enablement
  • Evaluate and use both open systems and third parties and frameworks – Swing, Struts, Junit, JUnitPerf, JDBC, and ANT – to streamline the coding, reduce debugging, and enhance extensibility.
  • Implement Java solutions that have the capability to co-exist and eventually seamlessly interoperate with Microsoft’s .Net platform.

The Java programming course workbooks and training aids that we provide as part of our instructor-led courses are unique in the IT field. Our content and diagrams reflect a purposeful examination of the program design, code, and debugging techniques which have been validated on consulting projects. And in this day and age with inter mixing and hybrid implementations of open standards and proprietary development platforms and systems software, reference material which “explain and demonstrates” is fundamental to effective knowledge transfer.

Java Training in New York

Java Courses in New York
SYS-ED's Java courses are tough, but they're worth it. Our challenging "hands-on" Java training provides a foundation and framework for Fortune 1000 companies, government municipalities, healthcare providers, software houses, and consulting companies to meet their own Java staffing requirements and acquire specialized Java expertise. 1

Courseware
SYS-ED's Java courseware is highly acclaimed in the IT field. We draw upon our extensive library of courseware, sample programs and case studies to explain, demonstrate, and teach native open source Java and its implementation on proprietary development platforms: WebSphere, WebLogic, Oracle, mainframe, etc. Our Java curricula include both industry standard and consultancy derived content. We have the capability to provide design and programming examples across a comprehensive range of base operating platforms - MS Windows, UNIX variants, and hybrid internetworking implementations.

Teaching is Our Business
Most computer training companies are divisions of large software or consulting companies. Not SYS-ED. Our only goal is to provide top-quality computer training for highly motivated professionals-no more and no less. Because we're independent, we're free to concentrate on teaching - and since 1980 we have been doing it very well.

Our Teachers Know How to Teach
SYS-ED instructors combine teaching skills with broad practical experience as consultants. Our system consultants have been working with Java since its initial release and equally as important average 30 years of experience in information technology in business enterprise: operating system, administration, and programming. And they know how to teach it. We teach not only "how to", but "why", building a solid foundation in fundamentals and insights into advanced materials. After a course, they're available to answer questions.

Enrollment - SYS-ED Java Courses are NOT for Everyone
No one is allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED Java course, without a consultation with our Director of Education. We review the operational objectives and project specifications for the organization evaluating whether to send its employee for the training. The employee is ONLY allowed to register if they have the appropriate background corresponding to the correct learning path.

Our Place or Yours?
SYS-ED Java courses are held at our modern, fully equipped training center in mid town Manhattan and in conjunction with training partners in North America and Europe. If you prefer, we'll arrange tailored Java training on-site at your organization’s facilities inclusive of mobile computer classroom set-up. On-site Java courses can include the identical workshops, case studies, and hands-on approach as the Java training we offer in New York.

For additional information including outlines, availability of private courses, references, and course customization, contact David Shapiro at our New York office at 212-564-9147, 48, 49 or register online.
