WebLogic Server Administration: Training
With its acquisition of BEA Systems software, Oracle Corporation now has two application servers: WLS: WebLogic Server and Oracle Application Server. WebLogic Server supports Java J2EE and EJB; it is excellent commercial software. Oracle has made WebLogic its preferred application server. In the short run, there are issues which need to be addressed. In order to implement an AIV: Application Infrastructure Virtualization from Oracle and WLS, software from multiple vendors must be deployed together: VMware ESX Server, MS Windows or Linux operating system, LiquidVM, BEA WLS Virtual Education, and Oracle WebLogic Operations Control. Oracle Corporation will be providing maintenance for its current Oracle Application Server 10g and 11g customers during the convergence of functionality with the WebLogic Server. Historically, BEA had been proactive in standards adoption with WLS. SYS-ED staff and CETi Technology Partners have been monitoring the issues that have arisen for both platforms and Oracle Corporation’s commitment to maintain WLS as a leader in web server technology.
SYS-ED system consultants have been working with the WebLogic Server platform since its initial release and are recognized experts with the base operating systems, databases, and middleware that until 2009 were the integrating software which scaled to the four editions of WebLogic Server: Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, Suite, and Application Grid. Equally, if not more significant, SYS-ED also has first generation experience with the longstanding Oracle Corporation software: database, PL/SQL, Forms, and JDeveloper. This multiplatform expertise affords us a privileged perspective from which to explain the nuances and tradeoffs required for implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting WebLogic servers. We identify the BEA and Oracle guidelines that do not work as advertised and offer performance recommendations. As an independent training company, SYS-ED evaluates web server benchmarks and provides unbiased information on WebLogic Server in relation to its primary competitor: IBM WebSphere Application Server and Rational platform.
SYS-ED provides WebLogic courses and integrated Oracle training programs for Fortune 1000 companies, government municipalities, and healthcare providers. Oracle Corporation executives have announced that their goal is to become the leading high-end server for on online transaction processing. We specialize in tailored fast-track courses and educational consultancy which prototype and teach migration and upgrade paths to WebLogic Server.
We invite existing and
prospective clients to compare the value of a SYS-ED WebLogic course in relation
to Oracle University and other training alternatives. Few software or consulting
companies have been providing professional WebLogic and Oracle training services
longer or better than SYS-ED.

|
SYS-ED WebLogic courses are not open to the general public. Only employees sponsored by Fortune 1000 corporations, government municipalities, healthcare providers, and consulting companies are allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course and only after a telephone consultation with our Director of Education. This is essential for ensuring that the individual be placed in the course which corresponds to the employer's version of WebLogic, operating environment, and operational objectives.
Our WebLogic curriculum includes 13 course titles, with the TC suffix indicating a course that was developed and taught in conjunction with consulting assignments. Course titles and topics can be reviewed using the Search engine.
SYS-ED has been conducting courses in the public domain since 1980; however, there have been
changes in the laws and regulations governing computer training in the state of New York. The schedule on our
websites reflects a projected time frame for licensure with the New York State Department of Education - Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision and
submission and approval of curriculum. It will be updated quarterly.
Qualifying an Assignment
SYS-ED will not accept a WebLogic assignment until we confer with the client and review the topics, examples, and exercises to be included in the course. We recognize and
differentiate between a course -
WebLogic Server Administration versus true educational consulting -
WebLogic Server: Performance and Tuning. The agreed upon content will be provided in writing to the client as
part of the training contract. At the client's discretion, we can provide
validation
assessment for measuring
mastery of the subject matter.
Private Courses: Client Location
SYS-ED provides private WebLogic courses in North America and Europe. With private training, topics can be mixed and matched from multiple course outlines and the workshops
tailored. Case in point; several of our clients have had us conduct accelerated 5-day courses consisting of what is regularly 8 days of subject
matter. We also offer integrated
Oracle
training programs. Private training can be conducted in different delivery formats -
classroom,
distance-learning or
blended web-based delivery format. Contact our New York office for
additional information on
the selection of content delivery.
So when it comes to your WebLogic training needs, contact Oracle University and review their course outlines, performance objectives, and courseware. Then visit www.weblogictrainingbysysed.us. Or e-mail us to schedule a complimentary consultation with dshapiro@sysed.com or dsilverberg@sysed.com or call 212-564-9147.
The Computer Education Techniques courseware used in SYS-ED courses consists of student hand-outs, training aids, and industry-specific examples and exercises. The CETi knowledge base aggregates and analyzes information in the public domain. It is also a service for reviewing and answering questions. Content is selectively added to courseware. At the client discretion, an industry standard textbook and accompanying presentation slides can be utilized. |
