WebLogic Server Training: The SYS-ED Advantage

Few software or consulting companies provide the caliber of professional WebLogic training service as does SYS-ED. Our multi-disciplinary staff of system consultant instructors’ experience extends beyond simply working with WebLogic since its initial release. Befitting a first generation training company, which predates the onset of web servers, our consultants are experts in operating systems (MS Windows, UNIX variants, and evolutionary z/OS, z/VSE, and z/VM), scalable databases, and legacy programming languages. It affords us with the hard-earned perspective from which to explain the nuances and undocumented trade-offs required for implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting WebLogic servers. A value added component to a SYS-ED WebLogic course is addressing issues associated with integrating middleware: WebSphere MQ and systems software - DB2, CICS, and IMS with WebLogic servers. Our WebLogic courses and Oracle training programs provide industry standard content augmented with consultancy derived examples, sample programs, and exercises. Industry leading training organizations and software companies call on SYS-ED for their challenging assignments; for their clients and software developers.

With the acquisition of BEA Systems by Oracle Corporation, WLS: WebLogic Server is being rebranded as Oracle WebLogic Application Server. Oracle's stated strategy is to make WebLogic Server its preferred application server. Complementary components from Oracle Application Server along with WebLogic Operations Control from BEA and Coherence from Tangosol also are being integrated into WebLogic Server. SYS-ED's system consultants and technology partners have been monitoring the technical issues which have been arising for customers of both platforms as Oracle undertakes the product changes and commences the migration for its installed base of clients. Oracle Corporation will be providing maintenance for current Oracle Application Server 10g customers during the convergence of functionality with the WebLogic Server.

As an independent training company, and recognized leader in providing WebLogic educational consultancy and Oracle training for Fortune 1000 companies, government municipalities, healthcare providers, and software and consulting companies, SYS-ED provides unbiased information on WebLogic Server's integration into the Oracle family of software and WebLogic versus IBM WebSphere.

We invite prospective clients to evaluate and compare the value of a SYS-ED WebLogic course in relation to the other training alternatives.

SYS-ED WebLogic courses are not open to the general public. Only employees sponsored by Fortune 1000 corporations, government municipalities, healthcare providers, and consulting companies are allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course and only after a telephone consultation with our Director of Education. This is essential for ensuring that the individual be placed in the course which corresponds to the employer's version of WebLogic, operating environment, and operational objectives.

Our WebLogic curriculum includes 12 course titles, with the TC suffix indicating a course that was developed and taught in conjunction with consulting assignments. Course titles and topics can be reviewed using the Search engine.

SYS-ED has been conducting courses in the public domain since 1980; however, there have been changes in the laws and regulations governing computer training in the state of New York. The schedule on our websites reflects a projected time frame for licensure with the New York State Department of Education - Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision and submission and approval of curriculum. It will be updated quarterly.

Private Courses: Client Location
SYS-ED provides private WebLogic courses in North America and Europe. With private training, topics can be mixed and matched from multiple course outlines and the workshops tailored. Case in point; several of our clients have had us conduct accelerated 5-day courses consisting of what is regularly 8 days of subject matter. We also offer integrated Oracle training programs. Private training can be conducted in different delivery formats: classroom, distance-learning or blended web-based delivery format. Contact our New York office for additional information on the selection of content delivery.

Warranty of Service
SYS-ED will not accept an assignment without a consultation with a client and we review the subject matter, examples, and workshops with the IT manager who will be sending employees for the training. We recognize and differentiate between a course - WebLogic Server Administration versus true educational consulting assignments - such as WebLogic Server: Performance and Tuning. The agreed upon content will be provided in writing to the client as part of the training contract. At the client’s discretion will provide validation assessment for measuring mastery of the subject matter.

So when it comes to your WebLogic training needs, contact BEA or Oracle University and review their course outlines, performance objectives, and courseware. Then e-mail us to schedule a complimentary consultation at dshapiro@sysed.com or dsilverberg@sysed.com or call 212-564-9147.

Courseware for Teaching

SYS-ED's courseware library consists of student hand-outs, training aids, documented walkthroughs, and industry-specific exercises. The Computer Education Techniques knowledge base is a service for answering questions, inclusive of the research and validation of the accuracy of information in the public domain. Citation of source documentation and examples are used to provide answers to the questions. Content is selectively added to SYS-ED course hand-outs and training aids.
