SYS-ED provides training on the up-to-date versions of computer applications software - Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Crystal Reports and if necessary on the huge amount of data which has been input and formatted on first generation software such as WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, dbase, FoxPro, Quattro Pro, etc. We also are leading edge implementers of open source alternatives to Microsoft Office 2007: StarOffice, Google Apps, Zoho, ThinkFree, WordPerfect Lightning, and OpenOffice. Integrated courses and training programs can be tailored in order to develop the skillset for becoming a proficient webmaster - Microsoft FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, XML, learning how to code/debug scripts - JavaScript, and VBScript, and utilize web servers.

The course hand-outs and training aids that we provide as part of our instructor-led courses are unique in the IT field. They reflect far more than simply the vendor documentation. Our presentation of content and diagrams reflect a purposeful examination of the software and samples which have been validated on consulting projects. And in this day and age with inter mixing and hybrid implementations of applications and the web, reference materials which “explain and demonstrate” is fundamental to effective knowledge transfer.

SYS-ED has been conducting courses in the public domain since 1980; however, there have been changes in the laws and regulations governing computer training in the state of New York. The schedule on our websites reflects a projected time frame for licensure with the New York State Department of Education - Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision and submission and approval of curriculum. It will be updated quarterly.

Most computer training companies are divisions of large software companies or consulting companies. Not SYS-ED. Our only goal is to provide quality computer training for motivated business professionals and webmasters - no more and no less. Because we're independent, we're free to concentrate on teaching - and since 1980 we have been doing it very well.

SYS-ED instructors combine teaching skills with broad practical experience as consultants. Our instructors average 20 years of experience with computer application and web enablement software.  And they know how to teach it. We teach not only "how to", but "why", building a solid foundation in fundamentals and insights into advanced materials.  After a course, they're available to students for additional advice or support.

Enrollment - SYS-ED Computer Application Courses are NOT for Everyone
No one is allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course, without a consultation with our Director of Education. We review the operational objectives and project specifications for the organization evaluating whether to send its employee for the training. The employee is only allowed to register if they have the appropriate background corresponding to the correct course outline, performance objectives, and learning path.

Our Place or Yours?
SYS-ED computer application courses are held at our modern, fully equipped training center in midtown Manhattan and in conjunction with training partners in North America. If you prefer, we'll arrange tailored computer application training on-site courses at your organization’s facilities inclusive of mobile computer classroom set-up. On-site courses can include the identical workshops, case studies, and hands-on approach as the computer applications training in New York.
