Better than IBM!

DB2 UDB Administration Skillsets, Expertise, and Insights.

No one provides world class DB2 UDB training like SYS-ED.  Our full-time staff of systems consultant instructors’ experience goes far beyond simply coding SQL. We are international experts in DB2 advanced administration, performance and tuning, and web enablement. SYS-ED has been working with DB2 since its initial release in the 1980’s and our consultancy assignments have provided us with the knowledge base to write critically acclaimed text books and develop red books for IBM. What this means is that we can teach and explain the nuances, interpret IBM guidelines, and much to IBM’s chagrin, point out the glitches in DB2 UDB across the complete range of IBM enterprise configurations.  Our diagrams explain the how-to’s and why’s and demonstrate IBM’s operational intentions. We have benefit of impartiality and can honestly draw attention to the shortcomings and design flaws in the IBM product and provide unbiased expert information on DB2 UDB in different operating systems and hybrid configurations. Given the reality of today’s multiple operating systems environments - z/OS, z/VM, MS Windows, AIX, Linux, Solaris and A/S 400, only training which addresses the detailed minutiae and idiosyncrasies of each configuration will be truly effective. Oh and by way just in case you did not know, we are recognized leaders in WebSphere MQ educational consulting solutions. That knowledge really counts when your organization is attending a DB2 UDB course with the ultimate objective to optimize your middleware and implement a web server solution whether it be WebSphere, WebLogic, Oracle, Apache or IIS. Our DB2 courses include the latest up-to-date information which reflect a consultant’s hard earned swagger and the tough DB2 questions that our client’s routinely ask (which we encourage) after a course is over.

Case in point, our DB2 UDB Replication course workbook is the by-product of our clients having an ASAP requirement to master and implement these capabilities into their IT business operations. The SYS-ED course workbook provides insights and undocumented workarounds which resolve DB2 implementation and performance issues. This information is derived from hands-on consultancy and incremental solutions which predate IBM fixes and new DB2 UDB releases.

Private Courses: Client Location
SYS-ED teaches private courses in North America and Europe. With private courses, topics can be mixed and matched from multiple course outlines and the workshops tailored. Case in point; several of our fast-track clients have had us conduct accelerated 5-day courses consisting of what is regularly 8 days of subject matter. And it is standard SYS-ED policy to incorporate project specifications into the courses.

Courses can be conducted for groups as few as 3 individuals. The aggregate charges for these courses typically will be comparable or less expensive (course fee, air transportation, hotel, ground transportation, per diem allowance), then sending those employees to New York for the training. There is an online cost analysis form or contact our New York office for a personalized cost analysis.

Guaranteed Quality
SYS-ED will not accept an assignment until our systems consultant/curriculum managers confer and review the topics, examples, and workshops to be covered in the course. And this information will be provided in writing to the client as part of the training contract. We recognize and differentiate between a course – such as DB2 UDB Application Programming and DB2 UDB: Programming in Java with JDBC versus educational consulting – such as DB2 UDB Recovery and DB2 UDB: System Performance & Tuning with Data Warehousing.

SYS-ED DB2 UDB courses are offered through our New York schedule. Our comprehensive DB2 UDB catalog courses includes 50+ course titles, with the tc suffix indicating a course that was developed and taught in conjunction with consulting assignments. Course titles and topics can be viewed from www.db2trainingbysysed.us by typing DB2 in the search engine field.

SYS-ED/New York Courses
SYS-ED DB2 courses are NOT open to the general public. Only employees sponsored by Fortune 1000 corporations, government municipalities, healthcare providers, consulting companies, and mid-sized businesses are allowed to enroll in a SYS-ED course and ONLY after a telephone consultation with our DB2 systems consultant/curriculum manager. This is essential for ensuring that the individual be placed in the course which corresponds to the employer’s operational objectives, operating environment, version of DB2, and development platform.

So when it comes to your DB2 UDB training needs, by all means contact IBM and review their course outlines and performance objectives. And then visit www.db2trainingbysysed.us. Or better yet e-mail us for a complimentary consultation at sales@sysed.com or call 212-564-9147, 48, 49.
