Why SYS-ED for UNIX and Linux Training UNIX and increasingly Linux continue to have an expanded role as a desktop and network operating system, base operating system for database, web servers and middleware, virtual machine to IBM mainframe operating system, and scripting and application development platform. In the 1970's, David Silverberg and David Shapiro were among the initial technologists and programmers who evaluated the UNIX operating system and designed and coded C programs. Silverberg coded C and C++ programs and later taught classes both at AT & T and Bell Laboratories. Shapiro, in conjunction with classmates at Union College and Cornell University, became familiar with the capabilities of early versions of UNIX and the important role of efficient low level programming languages. SYS-ED's UNIX and Linux courses and training programs reflect this experience and multiplatform expertise with open source software. The SYS-ED curriculum extends industry standard content with the emerging learning paths that teach the UNIX- and Linux- variants:
Few software or consulting companies have been providing UNIX and Linux training services longer or better than SYS-ED.
