Crystal Reports Technology Update
Xcelsius integration into Crystal Report provides
the capability for importing Xcelsius-generated SWF files as part of report
integration. It also provides improved design-time integration and
visualizations. What-if scenario models can be managed dynamically without
leaving the report file.
There is now Crystal Reports for Eclipse, which includes
an Eclipse plug-in which can be used for formatting reports to both thick and
thin client Java applications.
SYS-ED workshops explain and demonstrate:
- Adobe Flex integration and how to integrate
reports with operational workflows by embedding Adobe SWF - Flex applications
into reports.
- How to use Adobe Flex Builder for creating a
business-user UI: User Interface for accessing report data and integrating
with external web services.
- Interactive report viewing in which the .NET
Winform and NET Webform viewers can be used for exploring information
interactively without requerying the database.
- The new optional parameters for providing
complex user driven filtering scenarios.
- The ability to answer more business questions
with fewer, more flexible reports.
- The filtering panels and sorting buttons have
been built into the report based on the requirements set up by the report
consumers.
CETi staff and technology partners are evaluating
Crystal Reports capabilities with web apps and generating web
reports for display on a smartPhone and mobile devices.
