In those areas of interrelated information technology where there is a scarcity of industry standard textbooks, Computer Education Techniques develops its own courseware for teaching. Courseware design is based upon the application of adult learning theory and standards of the New York State Department of Education. Courseware can be reviewed in an advertising free environment through SYS-ED software specific websites.

David Shapiro, a Director at SYS-ED, has developed and edited courseware in conjunction with the following text book authors and technologists:

  • Pacifico Lim, CICS, COBOL, DB2, and IBM systems software
  • Shaku Atre, Atre International Consultants, ADABAS, IDMS, and IMS
  • Michael Haupt, z/OS JCL
  • Andy Novick, Visual Basic, Structured Analysis and Design
  • Jeri Roberts-Appel, Computer Applications
Information Technology Infrastructure

As part of evaluating an information technology training assignment and being presented with a lesson plan, a prospective client has the choice of utilizing an industry standard text book, CETi courseware, or a consolidation of the two medium. Most organizations require that a text book be specific to its version of the software and that the examples and exercises address operational objectives. Another Some organizations require that a CETi courseware be used for the lecture portion of the course and workshops with cross references to the text book. As part of presenting an instructor-led information technology course at the client location, courseware is evaluated and organized for subsequent use in a web-based infrastructure and delivery medium. This service is provided free of charge.

At the client's discretion, validation assessment will be provided. For volume training specific to a client's operating objectives, CETi will provide an instructor guide. web-based delivery medium.

The Computer Education Techniques knowledge base is a service for answering questions, inclusive of the research and validation of the accuracy of information in the public domain. Citation of source documentation and examples are used to provide answers to the questions. Content is selectively added to courseware and training aids. CETi's long-term objectives is to have its courseware recognized as a NRV: Nationally Recognized Vendor.

The challenge is to update and migrate the CETi courseware library into distance- and e-learning services and products which helps people learn.
