    1. Db2 and the Relational Model
      • Design a simple model for an employee system.
    2. Db2 Components and Concepts
      • List the components in Db2 that affect the Db2 administrator.
    3. Db2 Installation
      • Use the Db2 Installer graphical interface - db2setup to install a copy of Db2 on a server.
      • Configure communication protocols to use with the DAS: Db2 Administration Server service and Db2 instances.
      • Create the necessary userids and groups.
      • Define an instance at installation time.
    4. Creating Objects
      • Create databases, tables, indexes and aliases.
      • Alter a table and recreate an index.
    5. Moving and Loading Data
      • Move a table from one Db2 instance to another instance.
    6. Backup, Logging, and Recovery
      • Backup a database.
      • Restore a table.
    7. SQL for Administrators
    8. Scaling the Database
      • Increase the volume space associated with a tablespace.
    9. Application Considerations
      • Given a partial application model, determine the indexes, and the type of indexes needed for the application.
    10. Connectivity Considerations
      • Connect a client on a different machine to the server.
    11. Security
      • Create users and a group for application developers.
    12. Concurrency
      • Determine whether concurrency is being used effectively on that Db2 instance.
    13. Performance Measurement and Tuning
      • Given several execution plans, determine whether a performance problem exists and what is the solution.
    14. Optimizer
      • Given a number of SQL queries, determine if the queries can be optimized based on the table organization, predicates, and filters.
