SYS-ED Training SYSED

From Old to New!
Client/Server: C, C++, and Visual Basic to
Internet Programming - Java, XML, and .Net

SYS-ED Course SYSED
The web development and Internet programmers you need may already be working for you. SYS-ED’s challenging and intensive instructor-led courses, 3 to 5 days in duration, lets you cross-train and upgrade your programming staff and save the time, effort, and expense of hiring new personnel. As consultants, in the 1980’s and 1990’s, SYS-ED developed the first generation of C, C++, and Visual Basic programs. We use that expertise and experience in order to train your development staff to migrate those applications to Java and .Net. We teach both the core programming languages and the advanced topics. More importantly from our client’s perspective, we demonstrate and provide mastery of the hidden and undocumented programming tips which allow you to go quickly go up your learning curve and meet your development deadlines. The SYS-ED courseware library is comprised of 1000’s of programs across the broad spectrum of industry and applications. All of our programming courses draw upon these skeleton programs and prototyping techniques for teaching the next generation of programming platforms and languages: Java, XML, JSP, and .Net. Each student leaves a SYS-ED class with sample programs which can be put to immediate use back on the job.
The course workbooks and training aids that we provide as part of our instructor-led courses are unique in the IT field. They reflect far more than simply the vendor documentation. Our content and diagrams reflect a careful examination of the program logic, source code, and sample programs which have been validated on consulting projects. And in this day and age with inter mixing and hybrid implementations of open standards and systems software, reference material which “explain and demonstrate” is fundamental to effective knowledge transfer.

Students in SYS-ED programming courses receive a comprehensive workbook and reference card. We invite students to bring the specs from their programming assignments to class for discussion and analysis. After a course is over, students can use the Internet and have access to the SYS-ED staff and ask the inevitable questions which come up back on the job.

Not All Client/Server and Internet
Training Courses are Alike!

Real Hands-on Training
SYS-ED's client/server and Internet programming training is tough, but they're worth it. Our challenging "hands-on" training immediately increases programming productivity by 50% or more for both programmers new to Internet programming and mainframe programmers who are being cross-trained to the new generation of Internet development platforms. We draw upon our extensive library of sample programs and case studies to explain, demonstrate, and implement real-world applications. This will translate into productivity enhancements which will be needed in order to implement business systems.

Wrote the Book
SYS-ED manuals for client/server and internet programming courses are the best in the industry. They are comprehensive guides and models written especially for each course by our experienced instructors. They are thorough, clear, and well organized, and serve as desktop references long after the course. Our manuals are constantly updated to include new versions and more efficient programming methods. SYS-ED students also have access to our on-line reference books, sample programs, and training aids via the Internet.

Teaching is Our Only Business
Most computer training companies are divisions of large software companies or consulting companies. Not SYS-ED. Our only goal is to provide top-quality computer training for highly motivated professionals-no more and no less. Because we're independent, we're free to concentrate on teaching--and we do it very well.

All Our Teachers are Teachers
All SYS-ED instructors combine teaching skills with broad practical experience as consultants. Our instructors average 30 years of experience on multiple programming platforms - IBM mainframe, Microsoft .Net, ORACLE, Sybase, and UNIX. And they know how to teach it! We teach not only "how to", but "why", building a solid foundation in fundamentals and insights into advanced materials. Because teaching is a full-time commitment, there are no part-time instructors on our staff. When they're not in the classroom, they're busy writing or updating course manuals, developing training aids, improving techniques, even developing new courses. And they're available to students after the course for additional advice or support.

Our Place or Yours?
SYS-ED's courses are held at our modern, fully equipped training center in New York City, and major cities in North America and Europe. If you prefer, we'll arrange on-site courses at your own computer installation, inclusive of mobile computer classroom set-up. On-site courses can include the same workshops, and case studies and hands-on approach as our restricted enrollment courses. Or can be customized to your particular application or project.

For additional information including outlines, availability of private courses, references, and course customization, contact David Shapiro at our New York office at 212-564-9147, 48, 49 or register online.
